My mom started teaching me to sew when I was in grade school. She was a Home Ec teacher and she passed her love of sewing on to me. Although I am a musician by profession, I have always enjoyed sewing for myself, my children and my home.
For many years, I sewed clothing and home furnishings, and when "wearable art" became popular, I began making artistic quilted garments. These quilted garments led to simple bed quilts and detailed wall art.
The purchase of an embroidery machine opened up more possibilities for combining quilting, embroidery, decorative stitching and thread painting. Combining these techniques with the imaginative creations of my grandchildren led me to making these fun and unique art quilts.
I currently live in Wilson, Wisconsin, and do my sewing in my spare time from my job as a church musician. Besides sewing and quilting, I love to read, garden, and fish!
